Silicon Valley hails it as the secret sauce that makes an app, game or social platform “sticky” – the investor term for “potentially profitable”. “It is the sex, drugs and rock’n’roll molecule,” says Ramsay Brown, the 28-year-old cofounder of Dopamine Labs, a California startup that promises to increase the rate at which people use any running, diet or game app. Read more of this post

We often get beeping warnings on our phones for flash flooding in the islands, so when my phone went off I didn’t even bother looking. Then friends started calling. More Bad News About LED Lights

University of Essex Prof. Arnold Wilkins, a leading expert in photosensitivity and physiology, has warned that energy-saving light bulbs could be giving us all headaches as they flicker too much. LED bulbs can bring on feelings of dizziness and pain within just 20 minutes of switching them on. They can also produce disturbing anomalies of perception, such as seeing multiple images of a lamp, every time you move your eyes rapidly. Read more of this post

Dr. Mae-Wan Ho – The Danger of Wireless Technology

Dr. Mae-Wan Ho was an esteemed geneticist and visionary (she died last year) who bucked the establishment by opposing GMOs and contending that pollution from wireless technologies is a major issue of our time. Gaining her Ph.D in Biochemistry in 1967 from Honk Kong University she went on to lecture in the UK at Queen Elizabeth College and the Open University. She co-founded the Institute of Science in Society which campaigned against unethical uses of biotechnology and called for Glyphosate (Roundup) to be banned. Hawaii State Government Wakes Up To It’s Pesticide Problem
